Active – Physicians working full time in the state of Michigan.
First, Second, and Third Year in Practice – A physician who has just completed their residency and/or fellowship and will begin their first year in practice. Dues are reduced 75% for first year in practice, 50% for second year, and 25% for third year.
Part-Time – A physician who is working 20 hours or less per week.
First Year in Michigan – A physician who has just relocated to the state of Michigan receives 50% off their first dues year.
Spouse – A spouse membership is given if both physicians are MCMS/MSMS members. One spouse pays full active dues, and the other spouse is entitled to a 50% dues reduction.
Resident/Fellow – A resident physician member must be an intern, resident, or fellow in an approved training program in Michigan.
Tax Information
MCMS/MSMS dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution but 100% of MCMS dues and 79.5% of MSMS dues may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. The Macomb County Medical Society and Michigan State Medical Society are nonprofit 501c(6) organizations.
